CURRENT PROJECTS

Let the Good Times Roll!

Mental Health Awareness

Merica Strong is currently building a mental health awareness site on property. This will be a way to  reach people that need to communicate and relax. The site is designed for service members, veterans, and military retirees, first responders, construction workers, and those with spinal cord injuries.

The goal is to work on mental health awareness and mental strength.

Merica Strong Custom Accessibility Truck Build

Merica Strong is undertaking a one-of-a-kind truck build to empower our founder, Dustin Bunch, a spinal cord injury survivor and quadriplegic. This build is more than just a truck—it’s a tool for independence, daily work, and a statement of resilience.

The project centers around a 1978 Ford F-350 four-door long bed dually, which will be transformed into a fully modernized and accessible workhorse:

  • Accessibility Features

  • Custom gull-wing door and hydraulic lift system for safe, easy entry and exit.

  • Advanced hand-control system so Dustin can independently operate the truck.

  • Custom suspension that raises and lowers to provide ground clearance when hauling and ease of access when parked.

  • Modern Foundation

  • Classic 1978 body mounted on a 2017 F-450 chassis.

  • Powered by a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel paired with a 10-speed transmission.

  • Upgraded axles and air-locking hubs—essential for Dustin, as he cannot physically lock hubs by hand.

  • Work & Utility Enhancements

  • Built to haul bison, equipment, and agricultural trailers using a gooseneck setup.

  • Heavy-duty steel bumpers with integrated Bluetooth winching capability for ranch operations.

  • Fully automated Bluetooth controls for doors, windows, and tailgate, ensuring complete independence.

This build isn’t just about creating a showpiece for SEMA 2026—it’s about creating freedom. Every modification allows Dustin to live and work with dignity, while serving as a symbol of resilience for others facing spinal cord injuries, mental health challenges, and the unique struggles within the veteran and first responder communities.

We are seeking partners, donors, and vendors to help bring this vision to life. By joining us, you’re not just supporting the build of a truck—you’re supporting a movement that shows what’s possible when innovation meets purpose.

Together, we can build more than a truck.

We can build hope, strength, and opportunity.

We will be inviting adults and children with disabilities – and their families – to visit our ranch to enjoy “life without barriers.”

Our goal? To help people reach beyond disability to celebrate their abilities while connecting with the great outdoors.
